The nation's top prosecutor proclaimed that Maduro and his wife face charges in a federal court, encompassing conspiracy related to drug terrorism, cocaine importation, and firearms offenses. "The defendants will in due course confront the full force of American justice on American soil," the declaration read. It concluded by commending the president for seeking accountability and saluting the courageous military for a highly effective operation.
"The Venezuelan leader is not the President of Venezuela... He is the head of a narco-terror organization... and he is under indictment for flooding narcotics into the United States," stated the top US diplomat.
The Vice-President reinforced this sentiment, stating that the administration had offered several opportunities for resolution but was clear that narco-terrorism must end. "Maduro is the newest person to learn that President Trump keeps his word," the remarks concluded.
